If you go in another season with less snow such as Spring, Summer, and Autumn, you should take a trekking from Lauterbrunnen to Trummelbach waterfall, then from Murren village to Gimmelwald village. This is a beautiful trekking trail that you can only say like you are walking in a fairy tale. Murren, a car-free village, faces the valley in summer.

I didn’t mean to scare you. 😊 You’d just have more options a little later in the season. Some of the best views are from Murren—just walking from the train station through the town and then the trail from Murren down to Gimmelwald. I also enjoy walking down in Lauterbrunnen once you get past all the hotels. I’d keep your hotels as is.

The hike was all uphill and the last portion from the lake to the top of the mountain was snow covered but the trail was well marked.

Wherever you are, the best bet is to get to Interlaken Ost Station first and then take the train from Interlaken Ost to Lauterbrunnen. The journey takes around 20 minutes and is scenic! Yes, it is that easy. From the Zurich train station, it takes about 3 hours, but there are quite some scenic rides in between.
